Family Plan Building

At BrickFamily Connect, we believe that every family has the strength and creativity to find solutions that work best for them. Our Building Family Plan Meetings are designed to bring families together in a safe, supportive environment to make plans for their children’s wellbeing and future.

Building Family Plan Meeting (sometimes known elsewhere as a Family Group Conference) gives families the opportunity to take the lead in decision-making. With the help of an independent coordinator, family members — and anyone important to the child — come together to share information, discuss concerns, and build a clear, practical plan around contact that supports safe and positive contact arrangements.

What to Expect

  • Preparation and Support: Before the meeting, our coordinator will meet with each family member to explain the process, answer questions, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and heard.
  • Family-Led Discussion: During the meeting, the family has private time to talk openly and agree on a plan that meets the child’s needs.
  • Clear and Actionable Plan: The meeting ends with a written plan that outlines everyone’s responsibilities and next steps, which can be shared with professionals involved if appropriate.
  • Follow-Up: We offer follow-up support to help families put their plan into action and adjust it if needed.

Our Approach

At BrickFamily Connect, we see each family as a unique set of building blocks. When those pieces are supported to fit together, they can create a stronger, more stable foundation for the children at the heart of every decision surrounding contact.
